(Above) Fresh, wet snow to greet my arrival at Creag Meagaidh this morning

(Above) The fresh wet trend continued as I made my way up through the juvenile birch.

(Above) Difficult mountain conditions today with low level drifting on the path making for hard going. The new accumulations were consolidating rapidly below 600 metres, higher up less well bonded. The counter winds in the coire today resulted in drifting onto variable aspects – ski straps indicated a strong NW direction – data suggested persistent, strong ENE and E airflow throughout. Poor to no visibility for observations on Post Face …….
