Creep Lines

15th March 2020

(Above) That ‘old favourite’ Sron a Ghoire creep lines (and apologies for the poor photo – bad vis and showers coming and going).

We make no attempt of prediction as to the failure moments of such features, or indeed their often associated full depth bed plane events. Suffice to say mild temperatures such as those experienced last night serve to promote any propagation / cooler temperatures, as those now forecast for this next period serve to slow…..

(Above) Pit site today immediately below a relatively low elevation creep lines, on a SE aspect – a nice orderly affair, with even the sun coming out! Sadly not always the case!!

Lots of wet roller ball activity on this aspect today – temps cooling all the time and overnight most locations will re-freeze and stabilise

NB Details of pit observation and locations available from the drop down menu of ‘Recent Snow Profiles’ on our Creag Meagaidh main website page
