Thaw

12th January 2022

(Above) The view west from the A86 towards the east-facing aspects of Sron a Ghoire and the Post Face Face of Coire Ardair. Full-on thaw conditions with some light rain today. Snow cover is OK above 850m though patchy, of course, and best at plateau level. West-facing aspects have far few snow patches.

(Above) Left to right: Coire nan Gall and Coire Dubh. Top of the skyline between 960m and 920m.

(Above) Cornices above Bellevue Buttress in Coire Ardair. (Photo taken on 11th Jan).  All cornices will all be wet and weak now.
