(Above) Avalanche debris in a gully NE of Bellevue Buttress. Usual mod/soft slab debris but with several much  bigger & harder blocks. Cornice triggered event but speculated that the avalanche had stepped down onto deeper slab (the cornice that collapsed would have been soft and new). Today’s pit was midway up and to the side of the avalanche track and protected by rocky bosses.
