Loads of snow – Plateau areas

3rd March 2014

(Above) Loads of snow above 700m in  high plateau areas.
(An Cearcallach in background with good cover on Meggie’s long southern ridgeline descent to Moy in fore)

Alternative Meagaidh descent to the Bealach a Bharnish  – again great cover.

(Above) Lots of new snow instabilities and widespread sluffing with arrival of sun on snow

Heavy going at present in the deep wet snow conditions between 600 – 800 metres

(Above) Beinn a Chaorainn East Ridge – a pleasant route to the top away from the deep drifts

(Above) My thanks today to the two unwitting ‘Trail breakers’  in front!
