Great to see the sun today.

(Above) View along Loch Laggan towards the Grey Corries. Some beautiful photographic opportunities at the lochside this morning.
(Above) A pair out for a ski tour en route to Carn Liath. Skis will have been carried to about 500m. A good choice for uphill transport…but, with little real base, downhill descents will have been a wee bit “challenging”.
(Above) Coire Chriochairein in impressive winter raiment. Today’s observations were in this coire…. and did I miss having skis when venturing beyond the main path! Instead it was a stumble-fest and trailbreak-athon in mountaineering boots. Doh!
(Above) Plenty of coalescing point releases on most slopes below 800m in Coire Ardair. Initiated by a temperature rise when the sun came out which warmed the layer of soft fresh snow laid down in recent light winds.
(Above) Point release turns into a roller ball (sun wheel etc.).
(Above) Pinnacle Buttress and the Post Face above Lochan a Choire. The main Creag Meagaidh massif didn’t succumb much to the blandishments of the sun and hid under a mantle of cloud and mist for most of the day.
Big weather change tomorrow. Very mild indeed with stormforce winds. Significant snow loss expected.

It sounds like some hard work to get to your workplace but I’m sure the views helped.
