Blizzard

30th January 2016

P1040007(Above) Aberarder Farmhouse (270m) this morning.

Full-on winter conditions at the moment. Access to our area was just about OK this morning but constant drifting meant the A86 needed regular ploughing to remain clear throughout the day. Noticeably more snow from Laggan westwards.

P1040008(Above) A wee burn at 450m by the main Coire Ardair path mid morning……….

P1040010(Above)……….same wee burn when I returned in the afternoon; just about entombed.

Blizzard conditions through the day from 500m upwards. Big drifts building at altitude. Access best away from the path by aiming for scoured areas, even then it’s hard going.

The path had its own special challenges again today. Please be patient with the video as it’s really difficult being the both the subject and the cameraman when you’re wading in snow and fighting the wind. Look at the bottom of the screen for signs of leg movements in the deep snow. Unfortunately no audio.

Winter returns and set for a while, just await some clear blue skies now.
