Sun and avalanche

22nd February 2016

It was a nice day to be out in the mountains with plenty of snow and some avalanche debris.

The slightly warmer temperature and a bit of sun was speeding up the consolidation process on South-East to South-West aspects and the existing snowpack on lower slopes on these aspects should stabilise when the temperature drops tonight. It’s not all good news though as fresh windslab will develop on South and South-East aspects overnight and tomorrow.

Proper winter conditions but blue skies I’m sure are welcomed.
