Warm again

It was a warm dry day with a little sunshine.
Still plenty of snow in Coire Ardair.
Lochan a Choire still well frozen.
Large cornices. These are prone to collapse in the warm weather.
Warm weather also makes snow bridges prone to collapse.
Glide cracks, just above centre of picture.
Glide cracks like these often form before full depth avalanches. It is very hard to predict when such an avalanche will occur – it could be minutes, hours, days, weeks, or not at all.
