Scotland the brave – this green and pleasant land!

7th January 2017

I can’t explain why – but for some reason these words just seemed to keep ringing in my head as I drove towards Creag Meagaidh this morning!

(Above) Morning drive on A86 outside of Newtonmore

(Above) Sron a Ghoire – attempting to keep a brave ‘face’

(Above) The reflected North side of Binnein Shuas in the still of the afternoon – from across Loch Laggan

(Above) The backdrop of Ardverikie Castle a fitting venue for some ‘winter’ games (not seen that one before at this time!)

Do not despair. Winter starts this coming Thursday.
Build up the wood pile and bring the cattle indoors !
    Wish I was there.
I wonder if the group on the loch are the members of a winter skills course who have no suitable snow to play in.

……well the canoes indoors at any rate!

If only for the fact all are likely to end up in a guddle at the top end of Loch Laggan, this next spell!

At which point the occupants might get the opportunity to practice some missing winter skills – standing up in a gale!

Stormy conditions on the horizon for sure.

Enjoy your viewing Stan – if only from a distance…

      Thanks for your encouragement!
