Walk’ski’walk

15th January 2017

(Above) Coire a Chriochairein (Stone Coire) The walk, ski, walk mission for the day!

Not sure that the skis were that great a choice; walk to end of the first birch on wet snowy puddles, skis on at 400m on the drifted in main track, then walk around a soggy hillside to coire…..

(Above) Coire a Chriochairein – site of today’s intended pit Liffa Gully – right most patch of snow in a misty mizzle!

(Above) Sron a Ghoire – wet snow patches on lee Easterly aspects. depleted to ‘plateau’

(Above) The skis just about worth the carry for the home run back to the birch trees above Aberarder

That looks like a lot of thaw from the previous day’s post?

Appreciating the well kept blog! Keeping an eye on conditions for three days in the area at the end of the month.

    Cheers

      Hello Ian,

Yes indeed – very much thaw!

Good luck with your 3 days….. we’ll hopefully have some snow for you to play with by the end of the month.
That’s still a long way off weather-wise in this part of the world!!

      Thanks for the encouraging comments.
