(Not so) festive cheer

22nd December 2017

The weather really has a bit of a ‘Bah, humbug!’ thing going on at the moment. Definitely putting a dampener on the festive cheer.

(Above) A momentary glimpse of Sron a Ghoire viewed from the Carn Liath plateau. Swirling mists round most of the ‘Meggie mountain group this morning.

(Above) Looking into the upper reaches of Coire Ardair whilst ascending up towards Carn Liath. A hint of brightness in the afternoon? Turned out to be just a passing gap in the cloud cover. +7 degrees celsius at 790m! Snow cover now very modest indeed.

(Above) Orange peel. We’ve done this issue to death in the past…but some more inconsiderate littering on the path just 100m from Aberarder Farmhouse. Please use the bin provided in the lean-to shelter at the farmhouse, or take your litter home. Simples!

    All change on Boxing Day.
And, re orange peel “leave nothing behind and take nothing away” but………I used to do winter training for Scotland in the Brecon Beacons and made friends with a family of ravens. They are at least as clever as dogs and swooped down on my regular lunch stop as I left. So I started taking them raw meat chunks as a reward for keeping the bloody gulls at bay, they started “cranking” at me as I approached. So “guilty as charged”.

When I finished reading that, Stan, I had visions of….

      Hitchcock's movie

So I can sleep easy at night, tell me I’m wrong, Stan….Please!

No, you are right. Sleep with one eye open.
