(Above) Icy paths and hillsides today. A temperature inversion has created some very variable conditions underfoot……

(Above) Sunshine on the upper areas of Cairn Liath, lifting cloud for much of the day on lower slopes

(Above) Some instabilities noted at today’s pit site at a fairly modest 600m; whilst weakness not exactly jumping out at this elevation , pockets of instability are still present – particularly in steeper, shaded locations
