Day One of the 2019/20 winter season.

13th December 2019

The avalanche forecasting machinery cranked back into life today. Quite wintry, too, with one or two deeper drifts across the main path in Coire Ardair – though the cover is deceptively white when viewed from the road.

(Above) A view across Lochan a Choire towards the Post Face today.

(Above) Ski tracks next to the main Coire Ardair path. Tracks put down on Thursday or very early today? A case of snow fever methinks. An alternative to ‘shanks pony’. Possibly. But there are definitely some very optimistic people out there!

Colder on Saturday with a few snow showers from about 9am until lunchtime. Looking a a bit wintry.
