No hiding place

27th January 2020

(Above) Winter returned today! Snow showers obscured the scenery on the approach to today’s outing on Creag Meagaidh’s Creag Mhor Ridge.

(Above) Strong winds were scouring many exposed slopes, although some localised drifting even at lower elevations

(Above) Deeper  localised drifts were building throughout the day; weaknesses noted where new windslab had acheived depth, on mostly steep Easterly aspects

(Above)  ….and then it all started to go pear shaped (with a dying camera and blizzard conditions in summits areas)

(Above) …. well dying – no hiding place on the ridge (lunch and boulder whimpering) at 900m
