Help…

9th February 2020

(Above) A bit less snow than expected from Storm Caira (so far!). Nonetheless nice to have had some help today (through the wet snow), from a visiting colleague on a ‘training & development’ day -  excelling here in the trail breaking department  :-)

(Above) Small loose wet snow instabilities resulting from a temperature spike, which brought rain at 800 m. Cooling once again as we came off the hill with snow showers to lower elevations.

(Above) Looking across to the opposite side of the range (between the showers) to the well defined ‘boundary wall’ line of Coire a Chriochairein. The gully at the top sometimes a useful sample site ……but not today!

(Above) Poor mountain conditions with limited visibility for much of the time.

(Above) That end of day wet feeling…..
