(Above) Beinn a Chaorainn, East Ridge. An overnight light dusting of snow to around 700m soon disappeared during the day. Modest accumulations above 800m, on mostly bare ground or well bonded to old isolated patches.

(Above) Beinn a Chaorainn’s East Ridge. A hill fog affected summit areas for much of the day

(Above) Quiet (but not alone!) An overtaking pair making good time, before then disappearing above into the gloom

(Above) Only some small cornice lines around Beinn a Chaorainn’s notorious coire rim. A place for good navigation between summits (and not in a straight line) !
