East & West

20th December 2021

(Above) The view east to the Cairngorms from Creag Pitridh. Cairn Toul, The Angel’s Peak, and Braeriach – just over 50km away -  can all be identified on the far skyline.

(Above) The view west. One or two of the Mamores, the Grey Coires, the steep crags of Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis (33km away) clearly visible above the cloud inversion.

(Above) The extensive cloud inversion in Lochaber began to peter out near the Creag Meagaidh area.  The view north towards the Beinn a Chaorainn and the Creag Meagaidh massif/plateau. Very patchy snow cover now. The black curving East Ridge of Beinn a Chaorainn (top, just left of centre) is snow-free for most of its length.
