Hoped for a dry excursion…

26th January 2022

(Above) Coire Dubh – often clearly visible from the A86 – part of the Carn Liath massif, towards the eastern end of the SAIS Creag Meagaidh patch. Some drib & drabs of old snow as low as 720m on these E to SE-facing aspects but the slow process of ablation continues to deplete what modest amounts of snow we have.  Was hoping for a quick and dry jaunt up to the snow before the rains came….

(Above)… but the weather got wind of my plan and nobbled it with persistent rainfall and strong winds. A soggy & boggy excursion just about sums it up!
