Light winds

29th January 2024

After a very windy week it was nice to have a day with light winds. It was also dry, cool and sunny. No significant snow fell last night and the snowpack surface was firm in all locations today and stability was good.

Glide cracks; definitely not a problem today while the snowpack surface is frozen and very firm.

Carn Liath summit. Very little snow last night but what there was can be seen on the sheltered East (right) side of the cairn.

Ice forming in the colder conditions.
