Boxing Day

26th December 2024

(Above) The Big Picture. Sron a Ghoire, the Post Face of Coire Ardair and The Window prominent in the shot. Reduced, patchy snow cover at SAIS Creag Meagaidh at the moment. Somewhat better above 900m on NE – S aspects with some patches hanging on in there down to 750m in places. Mild and damp again tomorrow so some additional snow loss anticipated.

(Above) towards the eastern end of our parish. Coire nan Gall left and Coire Dubh right. Top of the skyline circa 900m. A86 trunk road bottom of shot.

(Above) Profile of the East Ridge of Beinn a Chaorainn, at the west end of our area. Little better snow cover here.

(Above) Coire Na h’ Uamha, just to the north of Beinn a Chaorainn’s East Ridge. Somewhat better snow-wise in this wide, remote and quite atmospheric coire. The base of the cascade in the centre of the shot is at approx 750m.

MWIS has consulted the tea leaves and is indicating the return of some colder weather around New Year.
