Sunshine: day 2.

7th February 2025

After a hard overnight frost in the glens it was another bright sunny day, with the freezing level around 600 metres. A visit to the lovely Coire Choille-Rais and the upper northern slopes of Meall Coire Choille-rais seemed appropriate.

The surface of the snowpack is frozen hard, though in places this is in the form of a breakable crust. Where this isn’t the case the surface is firm or hard, with serious run outs on steep slopes.
