Damp & misty

11th December 2025

Poor day for photography after the onset of wet and misty weather during the morning. The snowpack is really quite limited now after several days of thaw and rainfall. Just the odd patch remains below 900m with a few more above this altitude in a some favoured N to E-facing gully tops and coire rims.

Expecting a dusting of snow near summits overnight followed by better, drier and clearer weather during the day.

(Above) Coire Chriochairein, with just a few isolated old snow patches on East-facing aspects above 900m

(Above) The Inner Coire of Coire Ardair, with The Window prominent of the far right. Remnants of old snow as low as 900m in ‘Cinderella’ with some more at higher altitudes (obscured by mist) on the same Northerly aspect.

(Above) Easy Gully, below the Post Face at the head of Coire Ardair. Run-off aplenty. A few snow patches were glimpsed in the gully’s upper reaches.
