A foray to the eastern edge of the area and to the Drumochter hills, less snow here but a dusting above 800m alt and fine views of Geall Charn,A Mharconaich and the Boar of Badenoch – An Torc!
Persistent snowfall overnight above 800m is expected so hopefully a more wintry scene to come!

A fortuitous blog entry as I was researching how to get across the railway line for those hills. Can you cross under the railway at NN 63322 75104 (just after the Allt Coire Dhomhain turns south) as the map suggests?

Im not sure about crossing where you suggest as I have mainly crossed the railway line at Balsporran Cottage – so not confident in saying yes – but it looks a logical place as you say – if I find out for definite ill make a comments – cheers M
Edit by one of the other ‘Meggie forecasters. Yes, there is an underpass under the railway at that location and have used it. There’s also a convenient N-bound layby on the A9 just 500m from the underpass.
