Cloudy summits

2nd February 2026

The snowpack has continued to consolidate and  the older windslab is now reasonably well bonded and under an icy crust. Fresh windslab accumulations were very minimal. In most places the snowpack surface is icy, mostly firm but a breakable crust in some places.

Some photos below from the Western end of Creag Meagaidh. Unfortunately the summits were in cloud all day.

Sunshine on Loch Laggan but cloudy on Creag Meagaidh.

There’s a good depth of snow on both sides of the Moy Wall but it’s deeper and fresher on the left/West side.
