Winter Storm

13th March 2026

A full on serious winters day today with gale force winds, snowfall  and the continual drifting of snow. It’s an astonishing change from 2 days ago. Deep drifts in any wind sheltered places above 600m. Deep and unstable windslab continues to build on all Northerly through East to South Easterly aspects above 800m. Large weak cornices are also building above these aspects which threaten collapse onto slopes below. So check out the avalanche hazard report to get info so you can avoid these places, Nonetheless it a very dramatic winter landscape at the moment with plenty of places to go and enjoy!
