A milder day than expected

21st January 2026

Another visit into Coire na Uamha but a much milder day with noticeable snowless at  lower elevations – poor vis above 800m. Storm force ESE winds tomorrow with heavy rain at all levels will reduce current snowpack further. Then a freezing level dropping to 600m ( from around 1600m!) will consolidate the existing snowpack. Then fresh snow will lie above 600m during the day. A wild day in prospect.
