Blustery Saturday

7th March 2026

The snow cover and wintry scene from Friday has completely changed today with most of the new snow melting away. A mild day but it felt pretty cool in the strong winds. Main snow gullies on the Meagaidh cliffs are still there, as are many areas of very hard snow in coire back walls on North West to North Easterly aspects above 800m or so. Surprisingly hard and firm snow  which made me move around cautiously!, very aware of serious consequences for any trips and falls.

A dusting of snow and hard snow in Raeburns and Easy gullies

Very firm snowfields on the coire backwalls of Coire nan Gamhna and all North facing coiries.

Looking down Coire nan Gamhna

looking toward the Inner Coire and the Window area.
