Cloudy with Clear spells

8th March 2026

A good day in the hills today with only a light wind on the tops. Still quite cold due to the light breeze. Back to the original snowpack which remains very hard even at lower elevations where it is more patchy.

Uinneag (window) Coire an Lochain -The dramatic narrow valley from Lochan a Choire which breaches the cliffs between Geal Charn and Beinn Sgiath allowing access to the plateau.

The Northern slopes of Carn Liath and the Creag Meagaidh range

The unmistakable shape of Binnein Shuas (R Hill) beyond Loch Laggan and the hills of Ardverikie Forest beyond.
