(Above) Looking up to the summit of Puist Coire Ardair (right of shot) during one of numerous punishing showers this morning. Had a fabulous day up there on Saturday, stark contrast to today! Raindrops on the camera lens at 600m & heavy drifting of snow from the summit of the mountain at 1071m. That’s a very Scottish Highlands juxtaposition!Â
(Above) Close to the loch and the end of the Coire Ardair path. Bellevue Buttress, Pinnacle Buttress and the Post Face (just!) visible through the murk. Very poor mountain conditions today. Sudden and strong blasts of wind on the approach to the loch with rain down low and snow up high. Photography was hopeless after this point so the camera went back in the rucsac and stayed there until much later on the return journey.
(Above)Â Drier and clearer in the afternoon. Evidence of sluffing on a very steep East aspect. A minor temperature spike after snowfall and drifting initiated some sluffing on steeper East and North East aspects below 800m. Sluff debris left of centre of the photo. There was sluff debris in Raeburn’s Gully (above the loch in Coire Ardair) too, but conditions weren’t conducive to capturing a photo of it this morning.
