(Above) Coire Chriochairein in sunlight for a change. Older cornice and avalanche debris in places. Very large cornices still in situ in this coire….. and pretty much everywhere else.
(Above) Walkers approach the Min Window on the Carn Liath plateau. The Min Window is a narrow defile and well known feature at 950m which holds a lot of snow right through the winter season. Excellent high level travel conditions today in lighter winds and occasional sunshine. Great potential for extended ski tours in our area but only when the weather improves. The snow cover is utterly unbroken above 650m and very deep in many places.
(Above) Sluffs and rollerball activity on a SE aspect from about 750m. The longer trails of avalanche debris at the bottom left of the picture are from activity a few days ago.
