Creag Meagaidh Blog & Mountain Info

(Above) Looking towards Sron a Ghoire (left), the Post Face (obscured- centre) and Na Cnapanan in sunlight this morning. Quite bright for a time early on with light to moderate winds. 

(Above) The Creag Mhor ridge from Coire Chomharsain. A broad and slightly rambling ridge that gives access to the summit plateau.Following the ridge line meant we were spared some thigh-deep wading in snow. Quite a few deer around, too, and somewhat more nimble than Team Avalanche!

(Above) Heavy snow showers started at around 1.30pm as we made our way down.

There’s a lot of snow at Creag Meagaidh at the moment. Deep drifts are widespread above 700m with access difficult to all except the fully committed. Staying cold with much more snow coming our way from Friday onwards.
