Spring snowpack at ‘Meggie.

(Above) Overall snow cover remains good though plateau areas away from the main Creag Meagaidh massif (like at the eastern Carn Liath end above) is now more broken. The view from the bridge over the Spey at Laggan this morning.
(Above) Sron a Ghoire and Creag Meagaidh plateau more complete but not as comprehensively white as last week. Best snow cover above 650-700m at the moment.
(Above) The effects of the sustained mild temperatures on this relatively low altitude crag becoming more obvious now. Firmer snow and less snow loss up near summit levels thanks to overnight frosts. Cover here still pretty good though.
(Above) The Inner Coire & The Window, Coire Ardair. Bits and pieces of loose snow and full depth avalanche debris here today. The low lying crags have wet snow on innumerable steeply inclined benches and shelves below 1000m. Large moist cornices extend from The Pipes all the way round to Cinderella.
(Above) The Post Face. Easy Gully also had new avalanche debris in it this morning – below South Post, Centre Post and Staghorn Gully. Generally minor events so no great quantity of debris.
Apart from the above, stability was pretty good in most places. In general, fairly typical spring snowpack conditions at Creag Meagaidh.
