(Above) Coire nam Gall. Early am from the A86. New snow instabilities with some single point releases on Easterly aspects (sun on snow or cornice triggered loose snow events). Centre of shot, just above shadow line.
(Above) Later, around midday today’s sample NE through N to E facing aspects at 910m in Uinneag Coire a Chaorainn (often referred to in these Blog pages as ‘Sharks Gultch’). Although some residual weaknesses were noted in recent windblown slab accumulations everything had settled somewhat. At lower elevations the snowpack now moist and consolidated.

Donât think I havenât been observing your reports. Might just issue a full avalanche advice bulletin in the near future. Could possibly be considered for a pamphlet!
Andâ¦..the very minimum of snow over the highest Mendips last night! Bought a Mini John Cooper Works recently and could trip up North beginning of March. Yep, snow chains in the (tiny) boot.
Bristol to Fort William 7 bloody hours but still quite worth it. First petrol engine Iâve had for 25 years and what a dream.
Andâ¦..my copy of the apprentice has gone to dog heaven this year but is quite happy with slow hares and willing females.Could that we all end up as well!.

Good Morning Stan,
Fairly incoherant post in my opinion – when you’ve recovered from Sunday’s liquid pleasures I’d strongly advise a good night’s rest prior to any planned journey and suggesting you allow nearer 9+ hours for your journey to Fort William…if it’s worth it that is! May also be an idea to look into snow chain use on roads in Scotland (nowadays they just close the road in any hint of anyone needing them..Cairn O’ Mount road only needs a snowflake to fall on it) and where Creag Meagaidh is in relation to the Mendips & Fort William (and if they have anything in common) and if there is such a thing as a slow hare! Your last 9 words are probably wishful thinking!
