B&W retro-fest

8th February 2013

Post Face today. 2 climbers ascended the opening ramps/gully of Staghorn Gully then down-climbed it as they weren’t happy with the snow at the top end of the route. Said it was a bit of a wade getting up the bottom of The Pipes.
Camera misbehaving again. Only B&W shots available today. It’s a Japanese one, made in China. Perhaps something was lost in translation?
A very wise person once said to me, ‘There’s no such thing as can’t. You just need to use a bigger hammer’. The camera is on final warning.

(Above) Raeburn’s Gully

(Above) Cornices in place over quite a few places. Those over N aspects tend to be old and hard, elsewhere newer and softer. The quite big one above is over a S aspect.
(Above) Weak sunshine in the morning and again just coming off the hill.
