Doris….or was it Boris?

24th February 2017

Now that all has cleared and a chance for a look see perhaps Doris was more of a Boris  – ‘much promise but didn’t quite manage to deliver’ –  at least on our patch anyway;  plenty of drifting in various places and away from the beaten path it can still be a bit of a plough above 600m, but little to get that excited about!

All was rapidly consolidating  – ready for a good overnight soaking with rain to all levels. Lovely!

Below is a bit of a snapshot of what was around on a fairly overcast day.

Unfortunately  not much to encourage for the weekend  – conditions are lean, with little if any build up on Post Face routes. Probably not the best of places to be tomorrow!

(Above) Coire a Chriochairein

(Above) Sron a Ghoire – only a little drifting, mainly  on Easterly aspects with many plateau areas still bare

(Above) Post Face, Creag Meagaidh – Lean with little, if any of normal  build up on the main lines

Ski for access today from about 400m – but hold on for a rocky ride out!

Looks like a few good days coming up.
With reference to your frequent song lyrics ; there was a time we ( me and 3 climbing partners) used to sing ” let’s do the crab crawl again” to the tune of “let’s do the time warp again”.
Once again, thanks for the pics and commentary.

Ah yes, happy days – Mr Tighe’s toes will be tapping at the thought….

Nice one Stan – hopefully Meagaidh’s Coire Ardair and Post Face will inspire many more to come!

      Thanks
