Thursday 26th.

26th January 2012

Panorama shot of the Post Face, Pinnacle & Bellevue Buttress. A little gloomy at times today, the visibility disappeared completely a little later.

Quiet day with just the usual PYB camel train going to the snowholing site up past The Window and a few other winter hill-goers here and there. Staghorn Gully soloed today by a guy I met on the way out – not in prime nick esp. the last couple of pitches, apparently. Last Post better than when I saw it a week ago but still a mere shadow of what it can be.

Really variable surface conditions at present with bullet-hard underfoot conditions at plateau level, breakable crust below 750m and patches of soft, weak slab in a few areas – weak enough to trigger but not yet extensive.
