Deluge on the horizon

11th April 2013

(Above) The Post Face and Easy Gully. Thick, fat ice on Last Post
(Above) The Pumpkin in the Inner Coire. Looking good.
Lots of routes in condition at Meggie and surprisingly quiet. If you’re a ‘Week-end Ice Warrior’ then best get your route done early on Saturday as the weather forecast for later that day is looking wet….West-coast wet….
Really quite slabby snow today wherever it built up in lee areas. Lots of simple stability clues at your feet – cracks etc. Buried weak layers still present and these may become a significant problem if the weather becomes persistently wet.
