Not exactly lycra and T-shirts today….

26th April 2013

(Above) Coire Chriochairein. Just about as good as visibility got for the rest of the day until I got back to Aberarder Farmhouse.
Extremes of weather today. Met a lycra-clad runner in the sunshine coming down the main Coire Ardair path as I was making my way up up the hill. He was the picture of a racing snake but seemed a little damper than I expected & more ruddy-faced, with hair distinctly disarrayed, too. A hard training run, perhaps? 15 minutes later and the answer was all too obvious. The heavy showers had kicked in and I was by then completely geared up for a full-on winter mountain day…except, that is, for goggles. Sunglasses, yes,… but not much use at 900m in constant spindrift!  Winter still biting hard at present.
