Buddy finds ‘Buddy’

22nd March 2014

(Above) Coire a Chriochairein

(Above) New slab accumulations cross-loading on slopes   – other new snow instabilities also with a few sun on snow small single point releases.

(Above) Lots of high level new snow available for transport and re-distribution – Spindrift around coire rims and blowing over ridges today.

….. and a good news story to end on our patch – the missing black lab (Buddy) found today in Coire Ardair – met him around midday being escorted out by his owners.

Thankfully he didn’t seem to be much the worse for his couple of nights out. Best guess as to his movements was after becoming detached during a particularly heavy squall on the plateau Thurs afternoon thoughts are he likely popped over an edge to luckily find a soft landing in Easy Gully, whereupon he seems to have spent his time in and around the coire floor, making the odd foray back up towards the tops. –  well, if perhaps a bit slimmer from his adventures!
