The general situation at Creag Meagaidh prior to snow showers. Weather seems OK…….

…and then an hour and a half later at 850m. Different weather and a bemusing glacial-like world near the formal pit site. Yes, the the snow-ice really was an attractive shade of aquamarine.

The weather first thing seemed to augur well for the rest of the day. Frequent snow showers later in the morning and afternoon made for a different type of discomfort compared to Wednesday’s drenching drizzle. In the end it was certainly better than yesterday though definitely ‘no cigar’.

Coire Dubh is a wee favorite of mine as overlooked by most and it never sees any footfall. A great photo. The second photo from outside the estate office really shows the scale of the avalanche on Tuesday and I’ve never seen this size there before.
