All that glistens….

31st December 2015

mist(Above) Misty down low near Laggan this morning.

LB Longshot(Above) Quite bright to summits for a time first thing. In the distance, left to right: The Post Face of Coire Ardair; Coire nan Gall; Coire Dubh. Deceptively white!

pit site(Above) The shoulder of Meall Coire Choile Rais. A general dusting of snow covers most places with only limited drifting today. Cloud rolled in later. Today’s snow profile was on the shoulder somewhere just into the mist.

Grass3(Above) Minor amount of snow on grass reflects a lot of light when viewed from afar giving the impression of good snow cover. The reality is what you see above! (SW end of Loch Laggan with the Abhainn Ghuilbinn burn immediately below and illuminated by the sun.)

Binnean Shuas(Above) Left to right: Creag Pitridh, Binnean Shuas, and Beinn a Chlachair in cloud in the far distance. Loch Laggan in the foreground.  Snow line at 500m today.
