Lovely Spring Day.

30th March 2016

Spring was definitely in the air at Creag Meagaidh today. Northerly aspects still have a covering of relatively cool snow with only the very surface showing any signs of being affected the by strong sunlight. Southerly aspects on the other hand are significantly affected and hold very much a spring snowpack.  More of the same expected tomorrow.

Looking onto a Southerly aspects from the end of the loch. I suspect that it would have looked even greener by the end of the day.

Looking onto a Northerly aspects from the same location. Things are looking a lot more wintry on Northerly aspects.

Some significant cornices remain. I suspect a few of these might collapse over the next few days.

Sun Balls on an Easterly aspects. A sign that solar radiation is beginning to affect the snowpack.
