Turbo thaw

25th December 2016

(Above) The Post Face of Coire Ardair after the sudden overnight thaw. Recent avalanche debris with entrained rocks etc. visible at the bottom of North Post.

Very mild indeed on Christmas Day. Not quite as wet as anticipated but rain on and off throughout the morning. General snow line now pinned back to about 500m on lee slopes, much higher on windward areas.

Many rivers and burns in our areas now running very full:

Wintry conditions to follow again overnight and throughout Boxing Day.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
