Seasonal Visitor at Aberarder

25th December 2017

(Above) A seasonal visitor awaited at Aberarder this morning – I hope it’s not to be the same for the small quantity of overnight fresh snow he brought with him!

(Above) Cairn Liath Plateau area – A dusting of fresh at around 800m

(Above) Coire a Chriochairein (Stone Coire) -  Backwall gullies. Some old re-frozen cornices  remain -  only isolated quantities of fresh, overlying a few older deposits. Today’s pit site at base of gully

(Above) Coire na Gamhna. High on the NW flank of Sron a Ghoire above Coire Ardair. The high coire floor just on the 800m snowline.
