……swipe left

19th December 2017

O.E.D: ‘swipe left’(on the online dating app Tinder) indicate that one finds someone unattractive by moving one’s finger left across an image of them on a touchscreen.

(Above) The ‘Meggie car park this morning. 500m cloud base? Mild and misty all day today.

(Above) Today’s mission: a tour into Coire Choile Rais. Visibility now worse: 400m cloud base?

(Above) A momentary lifting of the gloom and a glimpse west towards the outliers of the Grey Corries.

Thaw now well established everywhere and at all altitudes. Burns not yet running bankfull but that can’t be far away with rain and persistent mild temperatures in the forecast. As you might expect, noticeable snow loss but mainly of the superficial cover: drifted areas just holding up, as you can see in the photo above.

(Above) Ice floes on Loch Laggan have not yet completely melted.
