Damp!

18th December 2018

Damp and mild today though the rain eased around midday so it was possible to at least get a view or two on the way out.

(Above) Coire Chriochairein after the deluge. Snow cover noticeably reduced, most other places looking black/brown/green. Very little snow below 900m, just the odd ribbon in favoured places. Some recent cornice debris noted in this coire first thing.

(Above) Pinnacle Buttress, Easy Gully and part of the Post Face. Ice is still hanging in there on Last Post but is probably running with free water too right now. Better snow cover on NW through N to East aspects at the moment.

Drier, cooler on Wednesday with a trace of snow later in the day.
