Nothing to see here.

22nd January 2020

….literally and figuratively.

(Above) Beinn a Chaorainn’s East Ridge looming out of the gloom today. Photo taken at 800m. Distinctly poor visibility here for most of the morning and afternoon. The snow cover is receding too, most noticeable at lower altitudes, of course, but the thaw was established right to summit level a few days ago and there’s been some snow loss there as well. (Much better cover than in the ‘Gorms, just noticeably less on our patch after protracted mild temperatures).

(Above) The car park at Creag Meagaidh NNR close to the A86 this afternoon. Sron a Ghoire and Coire Ardair seemed to have their own weather system today. Glimpsed some blue sky here this morning whilst travelling East en route to Beinn a Chaorainn….and bright again on the return this afternoon. Brighter still (less low mist) further East towards the Cairngorms.
