Skis, heather, dead deer and….. puddles!!

15th January 2020

(Above) Tempted by the recent snow at lower elevations  skis (for access) were dusted down and giving an outing today – not quite sure warranted in the ensuing thawing conditions through the heather and puddles!!

(Above) Widepread scouring remains a feature at higher elevations, along with here  pockets of windslab in selected, sheltered locations…..

(Above) A few small blocks of recent debris resulting from wet snow instabilities (and the odd marauding deer) at the base of some North through to East gullies.

(Above)  Man at Work …..’Marauding deer’ now somewhat fewer in number after the efforts today of Creag Meagaidh’s SNH (Scottish Natural Heritage) stalkers .

NB Stalkers choose their days carefully -  quiet on the hill today!!
