Slow, steady thaw

5th February 2020

(Above) Coire a Chriochairein. Hill fog was coming and going, affecting summit areas for much of the day.

(Above) The Min Window area off the Cairn Liath ‘plateau’. Deeper pockets of snow, with some scouring of wind exposed locations.

(Above) Looking across from the wind scoop of  today’s pit site on Sron a Ghoire’s NE Gullies to the now receding snowline twin burns features to our locally referred to Balloon gully, over on the Cairn Liath massive ‘massif’. A steady thaw continuing.
